Some trees have simply outgrown their spot. Others are dead, diseased, storm-damaged or pushing against foundations, drains and boundary walls. Whatever the reason, we remove trees of every size across Crawley safely and cleanly, and we quote a fixed price before any work starts.
How we remove a tree
Most garden trees in Crawley can't just be felled in one piece. There isn't the room. Instead we section-fell: a climber dismantles the tree from the top down, lowering limbs on ropes so nothing touches sheds, greenhouses, fences or flowerbeds. Where there's clear space, straight felling is quicker and cheaper, and we'll always price the simplest safe method.
Every removal includes:
- A pre-work check for Tree Preservation Orders and conservation-area status with Crawley Borough Council
- Full dismantling and lowering by qualified climbers
- Chipping and removal of all brush
- Logs cut and left for firewood, or taken away. Your choice
- Stump cut as low as possible, with stump grinding available as an add-on
Common reasons Crawley customers call us
Ash dieback is now widespread across West Sussex, and infected ash become brittle and unpredictable, often the tree that "looked fine last year" is the one that drops a limb in the next storm. Dead or dying ash near houses, driveways and public footpaths should be assessed promptly. We also regularly remove over-mature conifers planted in the 1970s–80s that now tower over bungalows, and self-seeded sycamores crowding boundaries.
What does tree removal cost?
Typical Crawley prices: small tree (up to ~10m, easy access) £400–£700; medium tree £700–£1,200; large or difficult-access removals £1,200–£2,500+. See the full cost guide for what moves the price.
